[NEW] Modular Seabed Vessel (MSV)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aims to develop a high seas vessel able to simultaneously carry and deploy at least one Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) for seabed operations down to depths of 6000m.

OBJECTIVES/PRODUCTS

The goal of the project is to develop an asset that addresses the strategic importance and urgent need to survey and protect critical underwater infrastructure, by:

• Improving and optimizing the use of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) currently under development.
• Filling a capacity gap and overcome limitations imposed by the use of ROV or Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) on existing ships.
• Enhancing interoperability among European naval forces through a common development of the MSV.
• Reducing development costs by integrating systems and technologies from different Member States (MS).
• Integrating systems and technologies, such as Communication (COM) technologies and launch and recovery systems, from different MS.
