PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aims to define a standardised interface on infantry optronic devices (targeting and observation equipment) for data transmission and power supply to achieve interoperability between the various soldier systems.

OBJECTIVES/PRODUCTS

The goal of the project is to increase the interoperability of European Soldier Systems in the land domain, by:

  • Standardizing interfaces for optronic devices, such as night vision devices, to enable easy connection to C4I equipment.
  • Enabling interchangeability of optronic devices between different European Soldier Systems, and facilitating multinational exercises, missions, and operations.
  • Simplifying logistics and reducing complexity associated with charging and replacing different batteries and using various adapter cables.
  • Reducing weight and increasing the efficiency of soldier systems by minimizing the need for multiple batteries, adapter cables, and other equipment.
